Danish company Cortrium has recently raised $1.6 million from the development of a clinical health tracking device from Maynt Capital Partners' branch.
Cortrium is developing health sensors for inpatient and home health tracking devices. The company's device name is C3, which tracks ECG, heart rate, respiratory rate, body temperature, heart rate recovery, sleep analysis, heart rate variability, physical activity, and exercise. Data is transferred to the tablet via Bluetooth while retaining the interface that the service provider views the data.
The next version of the device also tracks blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) and blood pressure. The company plans to use these investments for medical regulatory compliance and clinical trial research.
The company is currently conducting data validation studies on C3 vital signs monitoring in the Department of Oncology at Nasford Hospital and the Department of Cardiology at Bispebjerg Hospital. In the Bispebjerg Hospital, Cortrium conducted three studies including a heart rate variability study of eight people and an ECG study of 150 people. In Nasfor, Cortrium completed a preparatory study and will begin another study in 2016.
Last year, Bayer announced that Cortrium will be part of its mobile medical accelerator Grants4Apps. The accelerator was a crowdfunding project the year before. As part of the accelerator, Bayer said it will provide 50,000 euros to five companies within its project and acquire less than 10% of the shares.
