Fundamental VR, the UK virtual reality company that is developing Haptic VR Surgical Training medical applications, has announced that they have become part of the Microsoft HoloLens Readiness Program.
The Microsoft HoloLens Readiness Program currently includes Volvo, Autodesk, Case Western Reserve University, Trimble, Audi, and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. It is understood that FundamentalVR will work with Microsoft Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as the HoloLens team in the United States, focusing on holographic mixed reality medical applications.
FundamentalVR co-founder Chris Scattergood said in a statement: "This is a big step for us and a lot of results. With the support and recognition of the Microsoft HoloLens team, we will launch in the next few months. A range of holographic technologies. We are very excited to showcase a MultiMR (multi-person MR) solution that allows up to 20 people to share a holographic experience."
In October last year, FundamentalVR was selected by the International Business Programme established by London Mayor Sadik Khan. The project prepares £500 to support high-growth companies in the life sciences and technology sectors. Scattergood said in a statement at the time: "The inclusion of the program will accelerate our global growth and expose us to more organizations that want to integrate revolutionary VR and mixed-reality solutions in their own businesses, such as the latest Microsoft. HoloLens."
