Abstract: Good sealing performance is one of the necessary conditions to ensure that the product does not leak or leak, and it plays an important role in ensuring the quality of the product during the shelf life. This paper takes the sealing performance of shrimp packaging as an example, introduces the testing method of packaging sealing performance, and expounds the testing process, the testing principle of equipment MFY-01 sealing tester, equipment parameters and scope of application, etc. Provide a reference for the sealing performance of the package.

1 , meaning

Good sealing performance means that the package is intact. The heat sealing and the surface of the bag body have no defects that can exchange gas with the outside world. It can ensure that the product does not leak or leak during storage, transportation and sales. One of the effective ways for products to have quality problems such as oxidative deterioration, mildew, no crispness and deliquescence. At present, the testing principle of packaging sealing performance includes negative pressure method, vacuum attenuation method, ultrasonic scanning method, high pressure discharge method, etc. The negative pressure method has a wide range of application, and the types of packages that can be tested are not subject to packaging form, packaged product type, packaging. Restrictions on dimensions, etc., and the ability to visually detect where the test package is leaking and the pressure at which a leak occurs.

Shrimp strip is a puffed food with low moisture content and a certain amount of oil. It is sensitive to water vapor and oxygen. If the sealing of the package is poor, the shrimp strip is easy to soften during storage and sale. Therefore, the shrimp strip is easy. The bag should have good sealing properties. This paper uses the principle of negative pressure method to test the sealing performance of shrimp strip packaging.

2 , test samples

This test uses a brand of shrimp strips as a test sample.

3 , testing basis

The standard for the testing process is GB/T 15171-1994 "Test Method for Sealing Performance of Flexible Packages ", which is applicable to the sealing performance test of sealed flexible packages made of various materials.

4 , testing equipment

The testing equipment used in this test is the MFY-01 sealing tester independently developed by Jinan Languang Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd.

4.1 Test principle

The negative pressure method is used to detect the sealing performance of the package. The package is placed in the distilled water of the vacuum tank. By vacuuming the vacuum tank, a certain pressure difference is generated inside and outside the package, if the package is heat sealed or bottle The seal at the mouth is not strong, or the surface of the package has pinholes or other types of sealing defects. The gas inside the package will leak from the weak part of the seal. In the water, there will be continuous bubbles, and the pressure at this time. This is the pressure at which the package leaks. The greater the pressure value when the package leaks, the better the sealing performance.

4.2 Equipment parameters

The degree of vacuum control range is 0 ~ -90 KPa , the test accuracy is 1 level, and the effective size of the vacuum chamber is 270 mm ( diameter ) × 210 mm ( height ) , 360 mm ( diameter ) × 585 mm ( height ) , 460 mm ( diameter ) × 330 mm ( height ) 3 kinds of options, the system uses digital preset test vacuum and vacuum hold time to ensure the accuracy of test data, automatic constant pressure air supply further ensures that the test can be in the preset vacuum condition Under the process, the professional software supports the functions of automatic backflushing and unloading and automatic end of the test to ensure the smooth progress of the test.

4.3 Scope of application

The device is suitable for testing the overall sealing performance of bags, boxes, bottles, tubes, cans, boxes and other seals made of plastic composite materials, paper-plastic composite materials, metal materials, plastic materials, glass materials, etc., and conforms to GB/ National and international standards such as T 15171 and ASTM D3078 .

5 , the test process

(1) A certain amount of distilled water is injected into the vacuum tank, and the sample is immersed in water in a vacuum tank, and a sealing cover is placed.

(2) Set the vacuum degree, holding time and other parameter information, open the vacuum pump, press the start button on the equipment panel, the test starts, and vacuum the vacuum tank.

(3) Observe whether or not continuous bubbles are generated on the test surface during vacuuming or holding. After the test, check the inside of the package for liquid infiltration.

6 , results

When the negative pressure value of the shrimp packaging sample tested in this test is -45.9 KPa in the vacuum tank, continuous bubbles are generated at the intersection of the upper sealing edge and the back sealing edge, and water is infiltrated inside the packaging, indicating that the sample is in the sample. The junction between the upper edge and the back edge is poorly sealed.

7 , conclusion

The principle of negative pressure method can test the sealing performance of packaging fast and convenient. In this paper, the sealing performance of puffed food shrimp packaging is tested by the negative pressure method principle equipment MFY-01 sealing tester, and the test samples are verified in the upper and back sealing edges. The sealing at the junction is poor, the test process is simple, the equipment is easy to operate, and the test time is short.
