Hai'an Farmer Successfully Developed "Mulberry Leaf Egg"

Peasant Liu Wensheng, a peasant in Dulou Village, Pierou Town, Hai'an County, successfully developed the mulberry leaf eggs jointly with the Nanjing Jinling Institute of Technology and the Hai'an County Sericulture Guidance Station.
According to reports, Liu Wensheng selected Mulberry leaf from Taiwan Guosang to make mulberry leaf powder, which was fed with corn, wheat hull, and fresh fly larvae in a certain proportion. According to the inspection of the Poultry Quality Supervision, Testing and Testing Center (Yangzhou) of the Ministry of Agriculture, the content of vitamin E in “mulberry leaf eggs” produced by grass chickens is twice that of ordinary eggs, and the total amount of amino acids is 10.8% higher than that of ordinary eggs. At present, Liu Wensheng's mulberry hens and green shell hens each have more than 5,000 feathers. The annual output of fresh eggs is 800,000 kilograms. The average price of each mulberry leaf egg is 3.8 yuan, and supply falls short of demand.
