Misuse of microbial pesticides

At present, in the pollution-free production of vegetables and other crops, microbial pesticides are increasingly valued by a large number of growers, such as Bacillus subtilis to control vegetable powdery mildew, Beauveria bassiana to control whiteflies, whiteflies, beetles, cockroaches and many more. Insects. However, the survey found that farmers still have some misunderstandings in the use of microbial pesticides, so that their efficacy does not play well.

First, use under low temperature conditions

The use of microbial pesticides generally requires higher ambient temperatures. Some rural households ignore the influence of environmental factors when using microbial live pesticides, and do not pay attention to the use of weather conditions with higher temperatures, and the control effect is poor. Tests show that in the environment of 25°C-30°C, the control effect after spraying is 1-2 times higher than that in the environment of 10°C-15°C.

Second, use in dry weather conditions

Use in dry weather, such as sunny days from 10 o'clock to 4 o'clock in the afternoon and other high temperature and dry weather conditions, the application effect is not good, this is mainly due to insufficient humidity in the environment. For Beauveria bassiana in fungal insecticides, the preparations mainly contain white-stove-fixed spores, which can be used to germinate under the conditions of relative humidity above 60% by direct contact with the parasites, or when they are eaten by pests into the digestive tract. The insects reproduce in the body and produce beauvericin, which causes the insects to die slowly. Therefore, it is best to spray on cloudy days, after rain, or in the morning with high humidity.

Third, after being used by heavy rain

Microbial spores are most afraid of heavy rain, because heavy rain will flush out the sprayed bacteria. However, if light rain is applied after spraying for 5-6 hours, it will not only reduce the efficacy, but will increase the control effect, because light rain is beneficial to germination of spores, and pests will accelerate death once they eat. So be sure to listen to the weather forecast before using microbial pesticides.

Fourth, mixed with fungicides

As bulk fungus, as a fungal insecticide, the efficacy is achieved by the action of live spores of the genus Lactarius. Live spores after infestation infested and killed the aphids and sustained transmission, causing mass deaths. However, as a kind of living fungi, if they are mixed with fungicides, they will be killed by the fungicides and lose the insecticidal effect.
