Mirror mirror tells me who is the most beautiful person in the world? When Pavla Baksova, a small, big-eyed man asked this a few days ago, she got a disliked answer: her body was deformed and her spine was bent. The 30-year-old project manager living in Copenhagen said that it was "a scene in a science fiction movie." But this is what her future looks like, 10 years later.
People say that by the age of 50, what you grow up is your own credit. Now, a new generation of mirrors will present this truth to you. Inferring from your current behavior, vital organs, bones and muscle structure, the augmented reality mirror is equivalent to a high-tech window that leads you to a future that is not too far away. The smart mirror developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology measures your heart rate as you look in the mirror. Italy's "magic mirror" can highlight hard-to-identify physical changes, such as increased fatigue and subtle metabolic imbalances.
Baksova’s posture is not good, so when she stands in front of the “mirror of the futureâ€, the mirror shows her spine skew. Riccardo Selece, the creator of "The Mirror of the Future," said that this is not witchcraft, but the "data visualization to the extreme."
But what is the working principle of it? The smart mirror overlays the graphical user interface on some of the reflective glass, uses a multi-spectral camera to capture your movements, the 3D scanner analyzes your physique, and the facial recognition software looks at your face to determine weight gain and loss. At the same time, built-in sensors can detect signs of depression and other visual data. These mirrors can also be combined with other health apps to track your calorie intake, health signs, robustness and sleep quality. So, when you shave and apply lipstick to the mirror, you know what it looks like in a few months or even years.
Giuseppe Coppini, the science coordinator of the Mirror project, said that developers hope that the time spent in front of the mirror can be used to continuously monitor health and report changes in the body in advance to prevent the problem from becoming serious.
"Magic Mirror" is still in the prototype stage, and Coppini hopes to push it to gyms, schools and pharmacies.
