Amount of eggplant needs the most amount of nitrogen, but in the hot season, you must eat less. Urea application every 667m2 should generally be controlled within 30kg. Because of the high temperature season, the rate of transformation of urea into the soil is relatively fast. After the plants meet their needs, the surplus will be lost. Especially in sandy soil, the loss rate will be greater. Ammonium bicarbonate is suitable for no more than 40kg per 667m2 of application rate. Excessive application will result in loss of nutrients as well as damage to leaves and fruits of eggplant.
It is customary for vegetable farmers to apply chemical fertilizers with water, but this method should not be used in summer hot seasons. Because the temperature is higher, when the chemical fertilizer is flushed, a large amount of ammonia volatilizes will reduce the fertilizer effect. Especially ammonium bicarbonate is more likely to cause eggplant ammonia poisoning. The use of furrows or holes is best, and the thickness of the buried soil after top dressing should be not less than 5cm to reduce the volatilization of the active ingredients of fertilizers.
Although a reasonable amount of eggplant is required for nitrogen fertilizer, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers are indispensable, and nitrogen fertilizers cannot be topdressed each time following the fertilizer. In the full fruit period, it is advisable to apply top-down compound fertilizer twice, and the total amount of 2 times per mu should be no less than 40 kg to meet the needs of eggplant growth and results.
